GH Series Gravimetric Weigh Hopper is designed to control your extrusion process based on a weight-per-length process control. The GH Series extrusion control system tracks your extruder screw speed and continually learns the rate of each extruder screw revolution. The unit then adjusts the extrusion speed or haul-off reel speed (optional) to keep the product weight-per-length consistent. The GH unit adjusts for varying product weights, flow characteristics, and varying extrusion pressures, such as plugged screen packs and other factors.
The GH unit can be adjusted to a preset weight-per-length (grams/meter, pounds/foot or customer-specified) specification, or you can set it to hold the existing extrusion parameters set. When used as a stand-alone control, it is ideal for a typical mono-layer extrusion application. When used with the CoExpert control system, multiple extruders can be controlled at the same time, providing for an unparalleled system control and material savings.
